There are a number of times that we are called in to work with other professionals to help them complete a job. In this instance, we were asked to dig a trench in Neptune City so that electricians could place high voltage pipes underground. After the pipes were installed, we poured concrete over them and back filled. We always enjoy working with others to get the job done right.

It has been a VERY long time since we have updated our blog -we have been so incredibly busy throughout the Spring and Summer, that it was hard to keep our website updated. However, now that Summer is almost over, we have finally found the time to fill you in on some of our latest jobs. Pictured here is a recent project for a commercial customer where we removed and replaced concrete sidewalks at an office park. This customer realized that first impressions make a lasting impact, and they did not want the first thing their customer to see to be a cracked and unsafe sidewalk. We were able to go in and tear out the old concrete and replace it with new, safe walkways that show this business owner values his customers.
This winter has seen its share of freezing temperatures and bad weather, but that hasn’t stopped us from completing projects. Even though the ground is frozen, we have the machinery to get the job done quickly and efficiently. This customer in Brick asked us to update their driveway with new pavers. They chose multi-shade gray and the result was beautiful.
Nobody wants to have their yard torn apart in the middle of summer when backyard barbecues and impromptu parties are the norm. Since summer is long over, we have seen an increase in phone calls from customers ready to get their big backyard projects completed so that they are ready for next year. This was the case with our customer in Matawan who contacted us to install a concrete patio to compliment their backyard. Hopefully the weather will hold out a little bit longer so that they can use their new outdoor living space at least once this year!
When planning a project, many homeowners's first concern is the amount of time it will take to complete, and how much it will disrupt their home life. Out of necessity, or because of the dynamics of the job, many choose to have their projects completed during the Spring and Summer months which impacts the usability of their yards. Lucky for them, Joe Wehner & Sons Contracting is committed to working quickly and efficiently to get the job done with the least amount of interruption to their daily routines. Check out this job where we ripped out, widened and replaced a driveway with little inconvenience to the homeowner.
![]() Joe Wehner & Sons Contracting knows the importance of early detection when it comes to cancer, and that is why we believe in "Paint the Town Pink's" mission to raise awareness of the importance of annual mammography. Throughout the month of May many towns in Ocean and Monmouth Counties "go pink" to encourage women aged 40 and older to have their annual mammogram; to raise money to provide underserved women; and to make a difference in the lives of women in the community. Joe Wehner & Sons recently held a Facebook contest for our loyal customers to win a beautiful pink sun catcher to encourage participation in this great cause. Congratulations to the winner!!! Snow, freezing rain, and sleet have wreaked havoc in Monmouth and Ocean Counties this winter, but even when the schools and government offices are closed due to weather, Joe Wehner & Sons Contracting is out there trying to stay two steps in front of the next cold front. Although we have seen more bad days than we have good since winter hit, we have been able to meet all project deadlines. It hasn’t been easy, but we know how important it is to our customers that their jobs be done efficiently.
The first day of winter, December 21, usually brings with it much cooler temperatures than the Jersey Shore is experiencing this year. For small businesses like Joe Wehner & Sons Contracting, LLC, warmer weather leads to an extended excavating season which brings with it the opportunity to get in those last minute projects before the ground freezes. Although not impossible to dig, frozen ground makes for difficult projects, and is exceptionally hard on our machinery.
Recently we were lucky enough to work with a homeowner in Jackson who wanted to get the first phase of his project completed before the weather became too cold and the ground too hard. Joe and his team worked carefully to clear the land and dig a basement for this new construction home. The homeowner can now move forward with his project on time. |
